Strength and Grace was founded in 2014 so I could help individuals maintain the highest levels of health and fitness, particularly those in heavy workload environments. I did this by drawing on years of experience through my professional dance training and partnering with other experts in the health and wellness industry. Unlike other wellness services this unique perspective allows for a particularly effective approach to increasing health and fitness, as well as working with any existing injury rehabilitation. Many of our clients work in corporate environments such as IT and Banking. Their physical problems were much more acute in those particular jobs. Overtime the team has grown and we now treat a wide variety of physical issues which are mainly brought on by the sedentary jobs we have chosen.
As we know this sedentary work has lead to many physical and mental health problems within the work place some of which include:
RSI
back pain
bad posture
stress
This ultimately contributes to inefficient productivity within the work environment which doesn't allow employees to fulfil their potential.
What ‘Strength and Grace Corporate Fitness Solutions’ aims to do is allow companies the opportunity to offer the benefits of personalised wellness solutions within their working day or at home.
Strength and Grace Corporate Fitness Training
Our corporate fitness training can accommodate small groups or 1:1 personalised training sessions which can fit into your working day. It could also be in the form of an annual team building event which have proven to be a very popular addition to many companies.
Anti Natal Corporate Solutions
Allowing expectant mothers the best care leading up to birth, using a combination of stretching, massage and physical therapy to alleviate some of the stresses pregnancy has on the body. Working while pregnant, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimester can be challenging and uncomfortable if certain symptoms are allowed to persist into late pregnancy. We aim to allow for more productive time at work during the last half of the pregnancy by using the physically therapy mentioned above to relieve these main issues:
Lower and upper back pain
Tight hips
Neck stiffness
Sciatica
Swelling of the legs and feet
If we are fortunate to be able to start the Anti Natal program early in the 1st trimester we would also work on the strengthening the backs of the legs and gluteal muscles to better prepare the body for the 2nd and 3rd trimester and hopefully prevent some of these common pregnancy related issues. These sessions can be at home or in the office dependant on the facilities available.
Post Natal Corporate Solutions
The amount of time a new mother chooses to take off work is personal and can be determined by a number of different factors that might be out of ones control. Our goal with the Post Natal Program is to work with women though a personalised recovery plan which allows them to go back to work in a time frame they have decided.
When their obstetrician or doctor have given the go ahead we will work closely with the new mother to decide the next steps. This would be based on their personal circumstances which would include how the baby was born and their breastfeeding preferences. These factors can be very different from person to person and can play a huge roll in what we focus on when treating the stiffness of the body after birth so really understanding the situation is critical.
The main areas of focus Post Natal are:
Extreme upper back tightness (which can be very debilitating)
Neck stiffness
Tight gluteal and hamstring muscles
After giving birth these symptoms might be extremely uncomfortable and can effect the overall wellbeing of the mother quite profoundly. Having support like this postpartum as the body slowly gets back to normal can be transformative. Once the mother feels more confident we will slowly introduce exercise back into the routine making sure the body tightens back up in the correct places while also keeping certain areas well stretched out. These sessions would normally be performed at home or in whichever environment they find more comfortable.
